Score One for Sarah Palin on the Healthcare Reform Death Panels

In what can fairly be described as an admission that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin knew what she was talking about, the Senate Finance Committee Thursday dropped language from its bipartisan healthcare reform package that Palin and others had suggested would eventually lead to mandated end-of-life counseling sessions for seniors.

Supporters of Obamacare, including President Barack Obama, had accused Palin and others of being dishonest in suggesting the counseling sessions would somehow lead to the government encouraging euthanasia as a cost-cutting measure as part of rationed care.

"The rumor that's been circulating a lot lately is this idea that somehow the House of Representatives voted for death panels that will basically pull the plug on grandma because we've decided that we don't, it's too expensive to let her live anymore," Obama said recently.

"It turns out that I guess this arose out of a provision in one of the House bills that allowed Medicare to reimburse people for consultations about end-of-life care, setting up living wills, the availability of hospice, etc.," he said, adding, "The intention of the members of Congress was to give people more information so that they could handle issues of end-of-life care when they're ready on their own terms. It wasn't forcing anybody to do anything."

The move to drop the end-of-life counseling provisions, as reported by The Hill, suggests otherwise.

"We are working very hard to avoid unintended consequences by methodically working through the complexities of all of these issues and policy options," Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, said in a statement. "We dropped end-of-life provisions from consideration entirely because of the way they could be misinterpreted and implemented incorrectly."

Grassley said the end-of-life provision in the versions of the healthcare reform bill under consideration in the House would pay physicians to "advise patients about end-of-life care and rate physician quality of care based on the creation of and adherence to orders for end-of-life care."

"Maybe others can defend a bill like the Pelosi bill that leaves major issues open to interpretation, but I can't."

Score one for Sarah Palin.

And don't tell me, Sarah doesn't know anything!!

Just a thought

Thanks to the hippie hangover grey ponytail types running hollyweird and the media, the younger portion of our society discards the elderly as "too old", "out of touch", etc. The types I mention have no use for individuals that refuse to pay attention to superficial trends, and rather choose to honor traditions and principles that have helped shape culture and society. Remember, the libs are the self-appointed intellectuals. And they are here to liberate us from this oppressive culture.

Times They Are A Changing

The polls have been moving slowly, but consistently to the side of the Obama skeptics. Talk of racism and insurance company ‘rent-a-mobs’ are just what they appear - the death rattle of a bankrupt policy point.
For me this is a matter that will no longer allow me to stand by the wayside. I have never been politically active, but now is the time to call the President’s bluff. I am a worker, a wife, mother and now, I am one of the Mob!

Nancy Pelosi Says: Republicans Are 'Un-American'

Even farther back, our forefathers created a contract between the federal government and the citizens restricting how much the government could interfere in our lives. Pelosi took an oath to uphold that contract.

Here's a slogan from those days long ago, Pelosi:

Give me liberty or give me death!

* Report this post * Reply with quote Rush Limbaugh vs. Barack Øbama

While the president and his top aides are courting members through phone calls, cocktail parties, West Wing sit-downs and even a politically mixed Super Bowl party, liberal groups are dispensing with the niceties and seeking to drive a wedge between Republicans and one of the right’s most influential leaders, his numbers are falling like a hose of cards. The Prof Gates issue, 66 percent of the American public now believe that their Taxes are going to go up, regardless of what Øbama says.. And yes the Health care issue is this going to be the last straw on the camels back? All these issues are getting the disapproval of the American public.
Yet the Liberal bloggers seem to blame people like Rush Limbaugh for his decline.
This isn't about Rush Limbaugh, it's about what type of America you want. Do you want a government nanny state who offers up a titty to suckle upon when ever you need nurturing? Then side with Øbama and his socialist minions in the senate. If you don't want big government to rule your every step through life and rob you in the process then you better start speaking out, because if you don't these socialist Nazis are gonna completely destroy this country and turn it into the first undeveloped nation in the world.
I am with Rush because he only has the power to entertain us, whereas Øbama has the power to ruin us. And it looks like he is well on his way. But that is okay because the more damage he does, the easier it will be in the mid term elections to clean house, as the label of Democrat will be synonymous with failure, just as it always has been

Bill Clinton, Obama's New Messenger.

My first thought when I saw Clinton get off the plane in North Korea was 'Great, what are we giving up now? More nuclear secrets?'. I agree with other bloggers, there's something missing in this story. Too many unanswered questions
I really have no sympathy for these two female "journalists" working for a left wing media outfit owned by Al Gore. Wandering around the N. Korea/China border to do another story on the suffering of the North Koreans... We already know how much the 99.9% of the people of N. K. suffer but because it's better for "world peas" not to attack N. K. and rid the world of the scourge known as the Kim dictatorship, the rest of the world continues to kow tow to this regime. And now we have Bill Clinton flying around the world in his private jet solving all the diplomatic crises for the Obama Administration. If that's the case, let's eliminate the State Dept and put the money saved into another cash for clunkers program. And as I have posted before, I feel for the suffering of the people of N. K., but if the world woke up tomorrow and learned that N. K. ceased to exist, who would notice and would it matter?
